Turning in my keys...Plus a solo show
Today is the day...I'm turning in my keys to the old studio. So now, I get to attend 1st Friday like the rest of the masses instead of being trapped in my studio during the event. This month, Bob and I are going to Mass Ave...to Art Bank really. Gretchen's opening reception of " Twisted" is Friday Night , May 6, at the Art Bank Gallery , 811 Mass. Ave., Indianapolis. If you want a sneak peek...click here.
Everything is now at home...the painting studio is totally operational...Bob's basketweaving area is just about totally organized...even the office is lookin' good. The lampwork, glass, and metal areas (garage) needs work. It's not too bad, I've just got to get my displays stored and go though a few boxes. Then, I can go back to lampworking.
I'm hanging a solo show at BookMamas in Irvingtion on Wednesday. I'm kinda excited about it and will hang for about 2 months. I will also be their guest and demo (I'm going to paint while getting stared at) during Celebrate Irvington and the 4th Annual Irvington Art Walk on June 25, 2011. No, it's not the top of the top sort of show but it's in a location that I enjoy hanging out in. It's a bookshop in Irvington. There is something to be said for hanging artwork at alternative show spaces too. It's rather helpful for both the checkbook and networking.
BTW, it's raining again. Yesterday for the first day in weeks that I really saw sunshine!!!!
Later Gators,
